Applications for these internships are no longer being taken. Thanks for your interest.
DCR's Diversity Outreach Internships were created to bring greater diversity to the environmental field. The internships offer college undergraduate students the opportunity to be introduced to a career in environmental and natural resources protection.
This paid internship lasts 10 weeks from May to August. Interns work directly with DCR’s technical staff in the field, in or around Richmond, or in an office.
There are four types of internships from which applicants may choose based on their background and areas of interest.
Interns may work in more than one of the areas described above, thereby learning also about how DCR functions as a whole.
Interns will work 29 hours per week. DCR is headquartered in downtown Richmond. Interns may, however, work in an office or in the field, in and around Richmond, depending on the particular internship. Interns will be paid $12 an hour and must have a valid driver’s license. Those selected for an interview must have a college transcript and two letters of recommendation, including name, phone, email and nature of the relationship.* The naturalist internship may be extended into the school year for college credits.
DCR is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
