Hiring Rate: $15.00 per hour
Lake Anna State Park is seeking motivated and outgoing individuals to fill the Contact Ranger position. The incumbent will be responsible for providing information regarding state park services, and amenities and other local attractions. Other duties include providing coverage at the parks contact station and park office when necessary; collecting appropriate fees; registering overnight and day-use rentals; operating a computer, point-of-sale system, phone system and radio; providing accurate and detailed information on the park fees, directions, pricing, annual passes, trail information, park interpretive programs, and local area information; and performing clerical duties such as answering telephones, copying, various projects, and other duties as assigned. The Contact Ranger will also be responsible for ensuring the work area is well stocked and maintained on a daily basis; maintaining accurate and neat filing and storage; and performing daily cleaning of contact station or other work area when assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Excellent customer service skills required to provide highest quality customer service and provide information to guests. Familiarity with operating a computer and point of sale system. Must be able to reconcile a register, make change, and perform daily register transactions. Great interpersonal skills needed to work well with the general public and staff. Must be willing to work shift work to include weekdays, weekends and holidays. Reliable transportation is required.

General knowledge of park operations, local attractions, and office operations.
Special Requirements
Wage/seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits and are limited to 1500 hours from May 1 to April 30. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays. Must have reliable transportation. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must wear provided uniform in accordance with Virginia State Park’s uniform policy.
A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
