Hiring Rate: $16.00 per hour
High Bridge Trail State Park invites you to join our team as a Maintenance Ranger Supervisor! In this position, you will have an opportunity to utilize your skills while connecting with your love for nature and the outdoors.
The Maintenance Ranger Supervisor will have a solid understanding of equipment, repairs, as well as other skills. The ideal candidate will have aptitude in small engine maintenance/repair and work toward goals to ensure the park and facilities are well-cared for and adequate to support the daily operations.
Duties and expectations include:
Minimum Qualifications: Must possess a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation. Must be at least 18 years old. Successful candidate will have a combination of experience and/or training in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of building, grounds and equipment; general knowledge of the use and care of common hand tools and various cleaning supplies/equipment. Must follow directions, take initiative, and responsibly maintain and operate tools and equipment. Must possess or be willing to obtain condition of employment.
Additional Considerations: Currently possess Registered Technician applicators license for herbicide through VDACS or be able to obtain upon hire. Currently possess limbing and bucking sawyers certificate through VA state parks or be able to obtain upon hire. Grounds maintenance and equipment operation experience.
Special Requirements: Incumbent may be required to perform other park related duties during emergencies such as storm clean up, or on a non-recurrent basis such as special events. 8-hour shift or flexible shifts available, day shift or weekends available. Wage/seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits and are limited to 1500 hours from May 1 to April 30.
A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
