All fields are optional, but you'll want to enter at least Plant Type and Region. Click here or on the map to find your region. Mountain, Piedmont and Coastal Plain are the regions delineated for this search tool. The regions generally have different soils, elevation, hydrology and climate, so the plants in each are generally different. Bear in mind that counties along boundaries may fall within two regions. For specific information about regions, visit the Virginia Natural Community overview.
