Hiring Range: $12.85 - $13.50 per hour
Hungry Mother State Park is accepting applications for the Food Service Ranger position! We are seeking personable and dependable individuals to work at the beach concession stand. This position will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, food preparation and service, cash management, and maintaining a clean workspace. Duties include but are not limited to: Maintaining a clean and safe workspace, both inside the kitchen and outdoors; preparing and serving hot items to guests in an expedited and friendly manner; collecting payment; and providing services to guests. Other duties include stocking and inventorying merchandise, providing detailed information to guests regarding the many facets of the park, and assisting with boat rentals at the Boat House as needed.

Wage/seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits and are limited to 1500 hours from May 1 to April 30. Employment in all positions within the Virginia State Parks is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check including a criminal history record check. For all positions, experience is preferred but not necessary. We provide on the job training. Employees may be required to perform other park related duties during emergencies, or on a non-recurrent basis.
A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
