Hourly Rate: $13.92 per hour
The primary focus of the housekeeping ranger includes proper and prompt cleaning of cabins, restrooms, campground bathhouses and other park structures. Efficient turnover of overnight facilities before check-in time and the ability to work independently. Will be responsible for inventorying cabin supplies to ensure they are available for the next guest. Performs the light maintenance and cleaning tasks necessary to operate state park facilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 17 years old, have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must be willing to work weekday shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Additional Considerations:
Cleaning & Supervisory experience is preferred.
Special Requirements:
Wage/seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits and are limited to 1500 hours from May 1 to April 30. Employment in all positions within the Virginia State Parks is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check including a criminal history record check. For all positions, experience is preferred but not necessary. We provide on the job training. Employees may be required to perform other park related duties during emergencies, or on a non-recurrent basis.
A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
