Hiring Rate: $16.00 per hour
Responsible for safe operation of the swimming area, supervision of all lifeguards, day-to-day operational decisions including but not limited to; chair rotations, weekly/monthly training, and visitor complaints. Coordinates and implements weekly in-service trainings. Will assist supervisor in creation of work schedules of lifeguards that maximizes daily coverage of beach area. Strictly enforces policies, rules and regulations governing the conduct of patrons and promptly warns users of existing safety hazards. Performs rescues and appropriate follow-up procedures including the use of any available equipment in the performance of First Aid/CPR. Performs other duties including, trash/litter pickup, beach cleaning, sweeping sidewalks, & cleaning of beach-house restrooms. Successful candidates must obtain Lifeguard Certification, First Aid and CPR/AED training.
Qualifications:
Must be 16 years or older. Must have reliable transportation. Must have current American Red Cross Life guarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification. Previous water safety experience required. Must provide excellent customer service and be willing to work in a team environment. Must be willing to work shift work, weekends, and holidays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
Special Requirements:
A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
