Hiring Rate: $14.00 per hour
Mason Neck State Park is seeking applicants for the Boat Dock Contact Ranger position. This position is responsible for the daily operation of the boat rentals at the Cartop Launch Area. The duties include, but are not limited to, providing excellent customer service; answering questions about the park (including event and fishing information); maintaining rental equipment; and light groundskeeping duties. Other duties include assisting customers with moving and launching rental equipment; educating customers on the safe operation of park-owned paddle craft; ensuring all customers leave wearing properly fitted PFDs; keeping boat rental and retail areas clean and organized; ensuring all boats and facilities are properly locked and secured before leaving; and monitoring to ensure park-owned boats are being operated in compliance with the rules and regulations. This position occasionally performs additional duties as requested by supervisors.

Wage/seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits and are limited to 1500 hours from May 1 to April 30. Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and holidays. Requires standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in the outdoors exposed to the elements.
A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
