Massive old eastern hemlock (Tsuga canadensis) and understory of umbrella magnolia (Magnolia tripetala) and great rhododendron (Rhododendron maximum) in acidic cove forest along Roaring Branch, northwest of Big Stone Gap, Wise County.  Clinch Ranger District, George Washington & Jefferson National Forests.
