Southern Appalachian Acidic Cove Forest – CEGL007543
An excellent quality acidic cove forest with mature hemlocks (Tsuga canadensis) and tuliptree (Liriodendron tulipifera), and younger yellow birch (Betula alleghaniensis).  Near Ray Bottoms, headwaters of Tumbling Creek, Smyth County.  Clinch Mountain State Wildlife Management Area.
