Piedmont Acidic Oak - Hickory Forest – CEGL008475

Acidic oak-hickory forest at the "rich" end of the compositional gradient, transitional to basic oak-hickory forest.  On slope above the Roanoke (Staunton) River at "The Cove," a 180-degree bend in the river in the northeast corner of Halifax County.
