Coastal Plain Dry Calcareous Forest – CEGL007748

Spring aspect of a Coastal Plain dry calcareous forest on a ravine slope by the James River, near Eastover, Surry County.  Chinquapin oak (Quercus muehlenbergii) and bitternut hickory (Carya cordiformis) co-dominate the stand.
