Large chinquapin oaks (Quercus muehlenbergii) on a dry calcareous ravine slope near Yorktown, York County.  The prevalent graminoids in the photo area southern white-tinged sedge (Carex physorhyncha, in foreground) and longleaf spikegrass (Chasmanthium sessilifolium, in background).
