Coastal Plain Dry Calcareous Forest – CEGL007748

Open, dry, calcareous forest with large chinkapin oaks (Quercus muehlenbergii) and an herb layer dominated by Bosc's panic grass (Dichanthelium boscii) and other graminoids.  This stand is on a steep bluff cutting into shell deposits along Potomac Creek, Stafford County.  Crows Nest State Natural Area Preserve.
