Southern Appalachian Mixed Heath Bald – CEGL003814

The heath bald at The Channels State Natural Area Preserve on Clinch Mountain, Washington County, is a mixed shrubland of Catawba rhododendron (Rhododendron catawbiense), northern highbush blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum), black huckleberry (Gaylussacia baccata), mountain-laurel (Kalmia latifolia), and northern wild raisin (Viburnum cassinoides).
