Holliday Lake State Park master plan to be discussed Dec. 5
RICHMOND — A public meeting to discuss long-range planning for Holliday Lake State Park will be at 6 p.m., Dec. 5, in the J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library, 157 Main St., Appomattox.
Staff with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation will provide an overview of the park’s revised master plan.
Each state park has a master plan that guides development. Plans are updated every five years and must be current before funds are allocated for new facilities.
The updated plan for Holliday Lake calls for construction of: a new contact station, cabins, a visitor center, an expanded trail system, park offices and a group camp.
The park is situated on a 150-acre lake, surrounded by the Appomattox-Buckingham State Forest.
DCR manages the Virginia State Park system.
