Start 2017 on the right foot in a Virginia State Park
If your New Year’s resolution is to get more exercise, spend more time in nature, or enjoy more family activities, a First Day Hike in a Virginia State Park is a great way to kick-off 2017.
Parking and admission is free in all 37 parks, which will offer guided or self-guided hikes.
Participants will receive a special collectable bumper sticker while supplies last.
First Day Hike contests include a photo contest and the New Year Challenge. More information can be found at http://bit.ly/vspfdh2017. Each contest features a grand prize of a $500 gift certificate for overnight accommodations in Virginia State Parks.
For a complete list of planned events, visit http://bit.ly/ChooseYourHike2017. Most guided hikes are designed for the whole family, including well-behaved and leashed dogs.
First Day Hikes are an initiative of America's State Parks and the National Association of State Park Directors. For more information, visit http://www.stateparks.org/first-day-hikes-in-americas-state-parks-offer-invigorating-start-to-new-year-3/
