VLCF Funded Projects
Virginia’s working farms and forests, battlefields and other historic sites, natural areas, parks and rivers are critical to its economy, culture and quality of life. In 1999, the assembly and governor established the Virginia Land Conservation Foundation (VLCF) to fund protection of these resources. The interactive map below depicts VLCF-grant projects funded since 2000.

Description: |
A $200,000 grant was awarded to Trevilian Station Battlefield Foundation to facilitate the purchase in fee of 583 acres at Trevilian Station Battlefield in Louisa County. The purchase complements 632 acres already owned by the Foundation, which has been placed under easement to Virginia Outdoors Foundation. The land was owned by a timber company, which had been marketing it as an ideal commercial location with rail access. Long-term plans include development of walking and riding trails and an on-site museum.
