VLCF Funded Projects
Virginia’s working farms and forests, battlefields and other historic sites, natural areas, parks and rivers are critical to its economy, culture and quality of life. In 1999, the assembly and governor established the Virginia Land Conservation Foundation (VLCF) to fund protection of these resources. The interactive map below depicts VLCF-grant projects funded since 2000.

Description: |
The American Battlefield Trust seeks to preserve the seven-acre Proctor Tract in Culpeper County via fee acquisition and the recordation of a historic preservation and open-space easement to be held by the Virginia Board of Historic Resources. The tract is located entirely within the Core Area of the Cedar Mountain Battlefield. The property is improved and composed of two parcels, each with a single-family dwelling and outbuildings. The property also includes two acres of thinly scattered woods. The Trust will remove the non-historic structures (if required by DHR and DCR) and transfer the property to the DCR for inclusion in the Culpeper Battlefields State Park.
