Big Meadow Trailhead

When

April 23, 2022. 8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

What better way to appreciate Earth Day than a moonlit owl prowl! A moonlit night can be a great time to hear and spot some native owl species of the area.  We will conduct several owl calls and include some fun sensory activities to test your ability to see and smell in the dark just like many of our nocturnal wildlife.

Please bring flashlights, headlamps, comfortable walking/hiking shoes, and water. The Big Meadow Trail is a 1.2 mile roundtrip.

This program is limited to 20 participants. Please sign up for this program in advance by emailing: Shannon.carlin@dcr.virginia.gov
