Gain a new perspective of what is now Pocahontas State Park with a series of programs designed for historical and cultural exploration. What was going on here when your parents were born? What about when your great-grandparents were born?
10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. - A Walk Back in Time: Stroll down to the Spillway and get a glimpse of what life was like in the past. Self-guided and starts at the CCC Museum
10 a.m. - CCC Patch: The Civilian Conservation Corps (1933-1942) developed patches that were used by the enrollees as a means to identify other of their duties. Create your own patch and tour the CCC Museum to learn more about the park's history. Meet at the CCC Museum.
12 p.m. - Knots and Nets: Learn more about the Virginia Indians that once used the park as seasonal fishing grounds. Suitable for ages 5 and up. Meet at the Swift Creek boat launch
7 p.m. - VSP Trivia Campfire: Do you know the the approximate miles of multi-use trails in Virginia State Parks? Find out the answer around a campfire. Meet at the camp store.
