Smith Mountain Lake State Park, 1235 State Park Rd., Huddleston, VA 24104.

When

June 18, 2022. 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Be a part of the celebration - Head on over to the park to learn about Ranger Parker Redfox, the Virginia State Parks mascot. Parker is our newest ambassador with a mission to help reconnect children with the outdoors. He will help children understand the connections between the importance of forest habitats, recreational fun in parks, and diversity of species in the outdoors. There were six original Virginia State Parks, which all opened June 15, 1936. Do you know which ones they were? Do you know how many Virginia State Parks there are today? Discover the answers here at Smith Mountain Lake and join the interpreter for some fun and foxy crafts.

For more information on this and other programs at the park, call 540-297-6066. This event is free, but regular parking fees apply.
**Please follow all current CDC guidelines while in the park, including bringing a mask to wear if necessary  and social distancing at least six feet from guests outside your family group.**
