K-9 K.5 1st Ever "Race"

It's time for a tail waggin' good time! Bring your dog out to the park for a day of family fun as you participate in our K-9 K.5. It's like a 5K, but walking only a mile and with dogs. Along the way, stop at five different trail tables set up along the way to learn about pet care and have your furry friends pampered. Also make sure to check out the beach that day as we also have "Dog Days at Hungry Mother State Park" happening and will be enjoying a day of fun in the sun with park guests and dogs there as well. Dogs should be on a leash at all times during the "race" and any dogs brought must have updated vaccinations. Please don't bring dogs that are aggressive towards other dogs or people or you will be asked to leave. Dogs can be off leash on the beach only, but still must be under control by owner. Smyth County Animal Rescue will be there also to talk to people about pet care and adoption. Sign up is required to participate by emailing avery.smith@dcr.virginia.gov.
