Start the new year off right by joining park rangers for a First Day Hike. Participants will take a walk-through time as they begin at the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park, make their way down a portion of the Big Stone Gap Greenbelt, and then end up back in the Poplar Hill area of town. Throughout the hike, rangers will share information about the history of the town itself, as well as various buildings and areas within the town, and even point out interesting architectural details on many of the historic homes.
This is a moderate hike. Remember to dress for the weather and wear comfortable footwear.
