History and Culture Day: Historical Use of Trees

Location of Hungry Mother State Park in Virginia

Where

Hungry Mother State Park, 2854 Park Blvd., Marion, VA 24354.
Campfire Pit behind Shelter 3

When

June 17, 2023. 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

Historically, trees have provided us with shelter as we've used them to make various structures and enjoyed the warmth they provide as we've built fires from them. What are some other ways we've used trees and the wood they provide over the years? Join volunteer and Marion's Arborist Kevin Sigmon and learn about how trees play an important part in shaping our history.
