#OptOutside and learn about the various raptors commonly found around Twin Lakes State Park. This day-long event will start off with a workshop from 9:30-11:30 a.m., lead by local craftsman Roger Pinholster. Build your own raptor box for $20, then install it at home. For those looking for something a bit smaller, bluebird boxes will be available to build for $10 between 1-2 p.m.

Local experts will stop by to share insight into what makes raptors so important, and a few feathered friends might stop by too. Activities will take place throughout the day until 3 p.m. where you can test your skills and strengths compared to these mighty birds. Pre-registration is required for the raptor box workshop, and children must be accompanied by an adult to build. To register or for any questions contact the park office at (434) 392-3435.

Parks are for everyone. To ensure an enjoyable time, please alert park staff to any necessary special accommodations you or your group may need.
