Participants who are interested in the "Prowl the Powell" nature series should meet volunteers and park staff at the front gate of the museum. Dates will stay the same, but times are subject to change. The March "Prowl the Powell" nature series will be "Where Do We Begin." Participants will begin their journey with a walk along the Greenbelt in beautiful Big Stone Gap, Virginia and learn about the historical and natural resources of the Powell River and its valley. Considered the most biodiverse waterway in the nation, just behind the Clinch River with which it converges, the Powell River is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife and environmental wonders.

The "Prowl the Powell" monthly nature series will be held rain or shine. Participants are asked to wear appropriate clothing for the weather and comfortable walking shoes. Binoculars are encouraged but not required. Registration is not required for this program.
