When

Railroad Ford Ramble
Join the ranger for a special hike on this 1.5 mile (round trip) moderate trail. We'll be surrounded by the sights and sounds of the abundant bird life and a variety of trees in our forests. This trail affords both water views and then transitions into a mature hardwood forest. We'll pick up the old rail bed about halfway into the hike. You'll be walking the same path that carried the ore from the local mines. Be sure to bring your camera and binoculars.
Comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes and a water bottle are recommended.
Plan to arrive early. Lake Anna State Park experiences capacity crowds on weekends often causing the park to close early. Call the Visitor Center 540-854-6245 to check on the closure status of the park.
Space is limited, please pre-register. Free.
To pre-register for any ranger led programs. Please call (540) 854-6245 and leave a message on the Visitor Center answering machine with your name, how many in group, name of the program, date and time of program and your contact information.
