Paddle the lower Potomac River on a fossil finding adventure as we scour the shoreline for clues to the past. Millions of years ago, Virginia was covered in a shallow sea that was teeming with life, leaving behind prolific fossil beds. We'll ride down to the beach to launch and paddle upriver to search for these clues to the past.

Paddlers must be age 16+ for solo kayak and age 8+ (with an adult) for tandem kayak. Wear close-toed shoes and clothes that can get wet. Paid reservations are required as space is limited. Call 540-663-3861 or stop by the Visitor Center to reserve your spot. Parking fee is $5.
