Location of Sweet Run State Park in Virginia

Where

Sweet Run State Park, 11661 Harpers Ferry Road, Hillsboro, VA 20132.
main parking lot, near pollinator garden.

When

Sept. 28, 2024. 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Celebrate National Public Lands Day by learning how to identify and remove invasive plants so native species have a chance to thrive. We’ll gather at the main parking lot and start with a brief training on English Ivy and Japanese Honeysuckle and why we don’t want them at the park. Please wear sturdy shoes and bring water, sunscreen, bug repellent, and gloves. We’ll have extra gloves if needed. Kids over 10 years old are welcome to join us (with parent supervision). The pace will be slow, allowing us to soak in the sights and sounds of nature.
