The Park will host a special Friday "Lunch on the Lawn" on Friday, July 26, at noon, featuring Katie Bledsoe & The Holler Dogs.

Hailing from the old coal camp hollers of St. Charles, Virginia, Katie, and The Holler Dogs consists of fearless leader Katie Bledsoe on lead vocals and guitar, her young and talented sister Cassie Bledsoe on mandolin and vocals, and Earnest Bledsoe on lead guitar and whatever else the song calls for.

From the earliest childhood influences of the acapella harmonies that rang through their papaw’s Primitive Baptist Church, Katie & the Holler Dogs have woven a beautiful musical tapestry that combines shades of honky tonk, country, bluegrass, and punk into some of the most pure, honest sounds you will ever hear.

This special Friday “Lunch on the Lawn” event is free and open to the public. Participants may bring their own lunch or preorder one from the park for $10 each. This week’s featured menu is hamburgers on the grill, chips, side salad, dessert, and choice of beverage. Orders must be made in advance by noon on Wednesday, July 24.

For more information or to order a lunch, please call the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park at 276-523-1322.
