Caterpillar Club

Just as caterpillars grow and change, our Caterpillar Club programs are designed to help your little one grow and change. Each week, we will have you and your child(ren) exploring our natural world through a variety of seasonally appropriate, hands-on activities that will foster children's inborn sense of wonder and curiosity. These experiences are gauged towards early childhood (3-5 years old), but of course, all family members are welcome and encouraged to participate. Every program supports Virginia's Blocks for Early Learning.

Please dress for the weather. We are meeting at Shelter 1. It is the shelter next to the playground by the Aquatics Complex.

July 14 - What-A-Melon: Sample various melons and vote for your favorite.
July 11 - Measure It: See who can find the biggest and smallest items.
July 18 - Moon Exploration: Learn more about the 1969 moon landing and design your own rocket.
July 25 - Snow Stories: Get crafty and help us make it snow in July.

August 1 - Build-A-Bug: Learn more about insects and build your own.
August 8 - Summer Jams: Make an instrument then move to the beat.
August 18 - Relaxation Day: Move like an animal and relax in the woods.
August 22 - 'Choo Choo' on 8/22: Learn about trains then paint your own.
August 29 - Seeds of Change: The seasons are changing and so are our plants.
