Looking at Leaves

Location of Pocahontas State Park in Virginia

Where

Pocahontas State Park, 10301 State Park Rd., Chesterfield, VA 23832.
Picnic Area by Aquatic Complex

When

July 11, 2024. 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Tree species can be identified by looking at several different features: leaves, bark, twigs, flowers, fruit, and seeds. Even the overall shape of a tree can give us clues to the tree's identity. Join a ranger to grab a leaf kit and take a look at leaves to learn how to identify common trees. This program will include an 'unbe-leaf-able' craft and meets Virginia Standards of Learning. Suitable for all ages and abilities.

Please call 804-796-4472 or email Rebecca.whalen@dcr.virginia.gov for more information.
