Embark on a guided tour of the area known as Group Camp 7. Learn about the challenges faced by those who once frequented this area and hear inspiring tales of resilience and community spirit. The group camping area was built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps and was used until the 1970s. It consisted of several cabins, a dining hall, administration building, and a lake with a swimming beach. Today, all that remains is the lake, a brick retaining wall, and some building foundations.

The hike will cover approximately four miles. Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. For questions or more information email: Rebecca.Whalen@dcr.virginia.gov.
