The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park will offer a monthly "Birding in the Gap" monthly series on the second Saturday of each month. This series will be hosted by park rangers and volunteers.
Participants who are interested should meet at the front gate of the museum. We will walk around the museum grounds and along the beautiful greenbelt of the Powell River. Each month a different topic will be discussed; this month’s topic will be bird feeders. Participants will learn about the kinds of seed/fruit you should be feeding for different birds, as well as about how the types of feeders and how their locations can greatly impact your success of attracting birds to your yard.
This monthly series will be held rain or shine. Participants are asked to wear appropriate clothing for the weather and comfortable walking shoes. Binoculars are encouraged but not required. Registration is not required. For more information about the "Birding in the Gap" monthly series, please contact the park.
