Everyone has heard of dancing in the moonlight, but what about kayaking? Join our Park Rangers for a special evening kayak trip under the light of the Full Moon.

Children 6-12 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian in the same kayak, and children 13-17 may paddle solo but must be under the supervision of a parent/guardian. All paddlers are required to wear a properly fitted personal floatation device (PFD). Be sure to bring water and dress to get wet. The timing of this program is designed to end once darkness falls and the Full Moon is in the sky.

Pre-registration and payment is required. Spots are limited to 6 participants and are first come, first serve. Payment is $30/person including equipment rental and parking. Call the Visitor Center at (540)288-1400 to register and pay over the phone, or come in person. There is no online registration for this event.

Arrive at the Visitor Center at least 15 minutes prior to the start time to check-in before heading over to the Aquia Creek paddle launch for setup.

In case of inclement weather, call the Visitor Center about cancellation and payment details.
