DCR is looking for talented people to fill positions listed below. Unless stated otherwise, you must complete and submit an electronic state application by the job announcement's close date.
Generally applications must be made through the RMS (electronic state application). We will, however, accept paper applications for some state park slots. Be sure to refer to the individual recruitment for specific requirements.
Certain positions require a criminal background check, a conflict of interest financial statement or both. Law-enforcement positions require a fingerprint-based FBI investigation. DCR is an EEO/AA/ADA Employer.

Westmoreland State Park, located in Montross, Virginia, is hiring for the summer season! We are accepting applications for the Housekeeping Ranger position. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working independently or as a team; cleaning park facilities including 32 cabins, Conference Center, Visitor Center/Office, Day Use restrooms, 3 campground restroom/shower buildings; efficient turnover of cabins by check-in time; and conducting inventory of cabin supplies to ensure they are available for the next guest.
Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures. Valid Virginia Driver's License is required. Possess a combination of experience and/or training in one or more of the following areas: public relations, housekeeping, and maintenance of building, grounds, and equipment. General knowledge of the use and care of common hand tools and the use of various cleaning supplies/equipment required. Experience providing excellent customer service and working well in a team environment.
Special Requirements: Must be willing to work shift work, weekends, and holidays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Wage/seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits and are limited to 1500 hours from May 1 to April 30. Employer participates in E-Verify. Employment in all positions within the Virginia State Parks is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check including a criminal history record check.
