DCR is looking for talented people to fill positions listed below. Unless stated otherwise, you must complete and submit an electronic state application by the job announcement's close date.
Generally applications must be made through the RMS (electronic state application). We will, however, accept paper applications for some state park slots. Be sure to refer to the individual recruitment for specific requirements.
Certain positions require a criminal background check, a conflict of interest financial statement or both. Law-enforcement positions require a fingerprint-based FBI investigation. DCR is an EEO/AA/ADA Employer.

Hourly Rate: $14.50 per hour
Successful candidate is the first point of contact for the park and provides administrative support in carrying out a variety of responsibilities including; providing information and handling visitor contacts; working with fiscal records, reservations, cash management, procurement, computer operations, wage scheduling and training; preparing reports and correspondence, communications, working with park guests and the general public; assisting with training and supervision of seasonal employees and volunteer hosts. Will assist Office Manager and Visitor Services Technicians with the retail merchandising program including receiving, processing, distributing and inventorying merchandise for resale.
Excellent internal and external customer service is required in person, phone and email. Provides coverage at the park’s office, contact station, visitor center and country store as needed. Position provides detailed information on campsite, park fees, directions, pricing, annual passes, trail information, park educational programs, and local area information.
Collects appropriate fees and registers overnight camper guests. Responsible for reconciling daily cash and credit deposits, procurement of goods and services through a state operated purchasing system, sales, and inventory. Assist with training and assigning daily work duties to seasonal staff. Serves as support staff for other full time staff members. Required to operate all office equipment including computers and small office equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be able to count money, perform daily register transactions, reconcile register, and complete daily cash management paperwork. Must be able to work well with other staff and with park guests in a team environment. Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must be willing to work shift work, weekends, and holidays.
Additional Considerations:
Prior experience in customer service, park setting, or related field is desirable, but not required. General knowledge of park operations and local attractions preferred. Knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Special Requirements:
A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
