Hourly Rate: $13.00 per hour
Prepare, format and review literature for Smith Mountain Lake State Park (brochures, signs) to ensure proper logo and documentation. Provides coverage at the parks contact station and park office. Collects appropriate fees and registers overnight cabin/camper guests to ensure all information obtained in an orderly manner. Required to operate a computer, cash register, laminator, multi-line phone system. Position provides accurate and detailed information on the reservation procedures/information, park fees, including amenities throughout the park and provide clear and accurate Customer Service on park interpretive programs, and local area attractions. Performs clerical duties such as answering telephones, copying, and typing correspondence. Able to reconcile a till and note any discrepancies in a detailed manner Responsible to the Office Manager or his/her desirable. Typical shift is 9:30- 6:00.
Minimum Qualifications: Must have workers permit if required, must have reliable transportation. Ability to meet/work well with the public. Must be able to reconcile register and perform daily register transactions. Must be able to keep detailed records and account for revenue collected. Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Additional Considerations: General knowledge of office and computer operations preferred.
Special Requirements:
A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
