Hiring Range: $90,000 - $100,000
The Office of Financial Management of DCR is seeking a dynamic, customer service & team-oriented individual for the position of Accounts Payable Manager. This position supervises the accounts payable work unit and is responsible for accurately processing, reporting, and auditing payable documents. This includes maintaining appropriate documentation to ensure that all transactions are processed in accordance with agency, state & federal requirements. This position is responsible for meeting the Prompt Pay goals established by the Department of Accounts and reviewing accounting documents to ensure sufficient documentation for payment. Additional responsibilities include performance management, overseeing the processing of wire transfers; writing/documenting desk procedures in a changing environment. This position has heavy contact with multiple divisions, outside agencies, vendors, and financial institutions.
This position has been designated as required to file a Statement of Economic Interest in accordance with Section 2.2-3114 of the Code of Virginia.
Minimum Qualifications
Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, policies, procedures and standards. Considerable knowledge and skill in the use of computer based accounting and financial software. Considerable knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures. Demonstrated ability to manage processes and to produce clear, relevant, auditable work products. Demonstrated abilities to research, review, and apply complex policies, procedures, regulations, and laws to operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and agency policies, work experience in a complex organizational structure. Demonstrated high level of proficiency in Excel and Word, with experience using database applications. Some experience processing accounts payable and travel transactions in an automated office environment. Demonstrated ability to work well in a professional environment and provide great customer service. Demonstrated abilities to manage and develop staff in the efficient and effective conduct of accounting operations. Supervisory experience required.
Additional Considerations
Accounting experience in state governmental accounting is preferred. Experience in large, structured organization may substitute. Experience with Cardinal preferred. Experience leading process improvement automation projects is preferred.
