Summary of the position:
Wilderness Road State Park, located in Ewing, Virginia, is hiring for the summer season! We are accepting applications for the Contact Ranger position. Self-motivated and outgoing individual needed to work in our Contact Station. Provide information regarding state park amenities, services and other local attractions. Collect appropriate fees. Provide accurate and detailed information on park fees, directions, pricing, annual passes, trails information, park educational programs and local area information. Maintain clean work areas. This position is required to operate a computer, cash register, telephone, and hand-held radio; light cleaning of visitor center and contact station.
May be required to perform other park related duties during emergencies or on a non-recurrent basis.

Employment in all positions within the Virginia State Parks is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check including a criminal history record check.
Wage/seasonal positions are not eligible for Commonwealth of Virginia benefits (health care, paid leave, etc.) and are limited to 1,500 hours from May 1 to April 30.
