Generally applications must be made through the RMS (electronic state application). We will, however, accept paper applications for some state park slots. Be sure to refer to the individual recruitment for specific requirements.

Hiring Rate: $13.50 per hour
This position supports the operation of the park through a range of duties including, but not limited to, grounds keeping; trash pickup and removal; cleaning buildings, restrooms, and park amenities; assisting skilled trades employees in their duties; other tasks as assigned.

For all positions, experience is not required, but is preferred. We provide on the job training. Employees may be required to perform other park related duties during emergencies, or on a non-recurrent basis. Seasonal summer jobs can be an outstanding first step toward a lasting career with the park service.

Wage/seasonal positions are not eligible for Commonwealth of Virginia benefits (health care, paid leave, etc.) and are limited to 1,500 hours from May 1 to April 30.
