DCR is looking for talented people to fill positions listed below. Unless stated otherwise, you must complete and submit an electronic state application by the job announcement's close date.
Generally applications must be made through the RMS (electronic state application). We will, however, accept paper applications (Word) for some state park slots. Be sure to refer to the individual recruitment for specific requirements.

Hourly Range: $15.00 - $16.00
Bear Creek Lake State Park is accepting applications for the Interpretive Assistant position. The Interpretive Assistant works closely with the Chief Ranger of Visitor Experience as part of the park’s visitor experience team to provide meaningful educational opportunities and experiences by interpreting the significance of the park’s natural, historical, and cultural resources. This position is responsible for the daily planning and conducting of interpretive programs and educational outreach, including correspondence about the park’s educational programs and outdoor activities with the public, schools, scout and civic groups, etc. The Interpretive Assistant helps with the development of the program schedule and planning special events.
Other duties include maintaining educational and outdoor skills resources and ensuring they are in good working order; creating new programs; developing social media content; working with other local organizations to diversify programming; attending professional development workshops and seminars; assisting park visitors using excellent customer service techniques; keeping accurate records; caring for the park’s wild animal exhibits; and assisting with other duties as assigned. Training in all areas unfamiliar to the successful candidate will be provided. This position can be an outstanding first step toward a lasting career with the park service!

Special Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old. Must be willing to work on average 28 hours per week including weekends, holidays, and evenings. Position may be required to perform other park-related duties during emergencies or on a nonrecurring basis. Must be able to walk one mile at a moderate pace. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Wage/seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits and are limited to 1500 hours from May 1 to April 30.
A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
Selected candidate(s) will need to complete the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Form. DCR participates in E-Verify.
