Virginia State Parks Reservation Center upgrades computer system
(RICHMOND, Va.) – As part of the ongoing effort toimprove the experience of visitors, Virginia State Parks willmake major renovations to its computerized reservations systemthis month.
When the reservations center closes Nov. 17, the entire computersystem will go off-line as the system is updated. The reservationscenter reopens Nov. 29 at 9 a.m. The center will be open forlimited service Nov. 20–21 from 9 a.m.–4 p.m.and Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. to noon. On those days reservationcounselors will be able to update existing reservations orschedule reservations through Nov. 28.
The online reservations system also will be updated. Systemchanges will allow customers to reserve cabins and campgroundson the website and make next-day reservations, seven daysa week.
The Virginia State Parks Reservations Center answers morethan 125,000 calls annually and books more than 60,000 reservations.The award-winning state parks are operated by the VirginiaDepartment of Conservation and Recreation.
