Leesylvania State Park master plan to be discussed April 11
RICHMOND — A public meeting to discuss long-range planning for Leesylvania State Park will be April 11, 6 p.m., at the park visitor center, 2001 Daniel K. Ludwig Drive, Woodbridge, Virginia 22191.
Staff with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation will provide an overview of proposed updates to the park’s master plan.
Each state park has a master plan that guides development. Plans are updated every 10 years.
“Master plans outline the desired future condition for a park when it is fully developed,” DCR Park Planner Bill Conkle said. “We welcome public input in the planning process.”
The draft master plan for Leesylvania State Park proposes improvements to day-use and picnic areas, reconfiguration of the park entrance, construction of a 100-seat amphitheater and installation of a disc golf trail.
The 543-acre park is situated on the Potomac River in Prince William County.
Comments about this master plan update will be accepted through May 11. Written comments should be submitted to bill.conkle@dcr.virginia.gov.
