Clean the Bay Day - Watershed Cleanup
Where
High Bridge Trail State Park, 1466 Camp Paradise Road, Rice, VA 23966.
Camp Paradise- 1466 Camp Paradise Rd. Rice VA 23966
When
June 4, 2022. 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
You can make a positive difference to our park, our locality, the health of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed and, by extension, the Atlantic Ocean. Although our cleanup site may seem so far away from some of these resources, it's all connected. Interested participants will meet at Camp Paradise for orientation and then drive to the cleanup location several miles away. For this location, we don't recommend children participants since the site has a lot of "legacy" trash, which may include small, sharp pieces of glass. Children with guardians will be directed to a different site for an independent, self-guided cleanup. Heavy work gloves will be available if you don't have your own. Very sturdy, closed toe work shoes or boots are strongly suggested. Long trousers of tough fabric like denim are also a good choice, as well as a hat. We will have water and sports-drinks available on site. Safety is our highest priority. Progress will be satisfying, and you will definitely see the positive impact that you will have helped to accomplish.
Parking is available at Camp Paradise.
