Location of Hungry Mother State Park in Virginia

Where

Hungry Mother State Park, 2854 Park Blvd., Marion, VA 24354.
Maintenance Shop

When

March 20, 2022. 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Join VT Dr. Kevin Hamed and Hungry Mother staff as we search for Four-Toed Salamander nests to fence off to help protect them from natural predators and humans. Kevin will share why this salamander is special to Hungry Mother. Please pre-register at the Discovery Center before March 20 as only a limited amount of volunteers will be allowed to assist in this project due to the sensitive habitat we will be in. We cannot have too many volunteers or we will place the nests and salamanders in danger. All others will be asked to stand outside the area as work is being completed.
