Did you know Twin Lakes State Park is in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed? Unnatural objects that make it into the water at Twin Lakes State Park can end up harming wildlife in the Chesapeake Bay, one of the most important waterways in the region. Do your part and help rangers clean the bay and keep our precious waterways healthy by assisting with a litter cleanup; the wildlife will thank you! Parking fees do not apply to volunteers while they are performing service at the park.
Parks are for everyone. This is an inclusive program open to all people. To ensure an enjoyable time, please alert park staff to any necessary special accommodations you or your group may need.
About Clean the Bay Day
Every June, Virginia State Parks participates in the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Clean the Bay Day, an event dedicated to protecting and preserving the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Park visitors are invited to join a clean-up to help remove litter, debris and pollution from rivers, streams and shorelines that feed into the Bay, contributing to the health of the Bay’s ecosystem and ensuring cleaner water and safer habitats for wildlife.
