Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m., beginning Feb. 15 through April 30, per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.
National Kids to Parks Day

When
May 21, 2022. 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
For National Kids to Parks Day this year, we will be alternating between two - one hour stations that will help children explore the land and the river. One group will explore the land while participating in a scavenger hunt while the other group will explore the river by looking for macro invertebrates. Each group will get a chance to experience both stations. Please bring closed toed shoes and a change of clothes since we will be getting wet. Feel free to bring water and bug spray. Meet at the Lupton Access Picnic Shelter at 9am to divide into groups. A daily or annual parking pass must be displayed. This program is intended for youth under the age of 16 years.

Throughout the program, all program participants including park staff, volunteers, and park visitors will be asked to maintain appropriate social distancing of at least 6 feet. Face coverings are requested when physical distancing is not possible.
