Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m., beginning Feb. 15 through April 30, per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

The day has been filled with fun activities, but now it is time to wind down with a peaceful paddle on the lake. Join an interpreter as we take the park's canoes out for an evening on the water. Along the way we'll point out animals, plants, and sounds of the evening. We'll also stop to discuss the history of the park and how it came to be.
All materials will be provided. Wear closed-toe shoes and clothing that you don't mind getting wet. Must pre-register at the Discovery Center or by calling 276-781-7400.
